MMA Finishes from over the Weekend

Another weekend of mixed martial arts has came and went. I know everyone didn’t get to see everything and that’s where I come in. Friday night we started off with the first round of the PFL Playoffs at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Saturday we had UFC Tampa at the Amalie Arena, and Bellator 230/Milan at the Allianz Cloud in Italy, to finish the weekend we had ONE Championship 100 Century in Tokyo Japan.

Bellator 230/Milan

Nicolo Solli Def Daniel Cassell by Submission in Round 1.

Nicolo Solli moves to 3-0 after defeating Daniel Cassell. Nicolo Solli is a young fighter and has looked impressive every fight it will be interesting to see what he does against somebody with a real MMA record.

Vadim Nemkov Submits Rafael Carvalho in Round 2.

Vadim Nemkov is on a 6 fight winstreak and has finished 5 of those 6 opponents. He should definitely be in line for a title shot next or one fight away. Rafael Carvalho has now lost 3 of his last 4, and this was his Light Heavyweight debut i’m not sure where he goes from here.

Melvin Manhoef Def Yannick Bahati by TKO in Round 1.

Melvin Manhoef at the age of 43 is still fighting and still getting stoppage victories. After losing to Rafael Carvalho twice in a row hes rattled off two impressive victories. I wouldn’t mind seeing him take on Joe Schilling to avenge that loss!

Alessio Sakara Def Canaan Grigsby by KO in Round 1.

Even this was an OBVIOUS showcase fight for Sakara in his hometown it’s still impressive he was able to get the finish in the first round. Sakara has been fighting since 2002 sooner or later hes going to suffer some real damage maybe he should think about calling it quits here soon.

UFC Tampa

Miguel Baeza Def Hector Aldana by TKO in Round 2.

After his decision victory this Summer against Victor Reyna, Miguel Baeza got the TKO finish against UFC veteran Hector Aldana. I’m excited to see what this guy can do in the already stacked UFC Welterweight division.

Chito Vera Def Andre Ewell by TKO round 3.

Chito Vera and Andre Ewell put on a show for the fans at UFC Tampa. Chito Vera eventually got the TKO finish in the third. Chito Vera is now on a 5 fight winstreak all finishes. lets put respect on his name and give him a top 15 maybe even a top 10 fight next. I wouldn’t mind seeing him take on Rob Font in the near future.

Deiveson Figueiredo def Tim Elliot by Submission in Round 1.

Deiveson Figueiredo is a force to be wreckon with. When I seen this fight announced I knew Figueiredo would get the W but I didn’t know he would do it this fast and by submission. Strip Cejudo and do Joseph Benavidez Vs Deiveson Figueiredo for the Flyweight belt.

Mike Davis Def Thomas Gifford by KO in Round 3.

Coming off a submission victory the homestate fighter Mike Davis took this fight on 5 days notice. He threw everything and the kitchen sink at Thomas Gifford. A lot of people were freaking out beacause it was brutal and it should have been stopped, and I agree with them but I also feel that it should be the corners job too.

Ryan Spann Def Devin Clark by

Ryan Spann is officially Undefeated in the UFC now. He trains out of my personal favorite gym FortisMMA. Sayif Saud down there is really masterful coach what he is doing is so impressive. If I’m a fighter I would check them out especially if I’m on a losing streak. Their fighters in the UFC are 18-5.

Niko Price Def James Vick by KO Upkick

Niko Price is a certified gangster he’s the real BMF. I love watching this guy fight he is never in a unexciting fight. Boy! Did he deliver right when the fight started he was throwing hay makers never really connecting though. He eventually got taken down and was fully mounted just when you thought James Vick had a chance to not get knocked out unconscious you hear “CRACK” the sound of Vicks jaw from an Up Kick. He was left basically dead again, he officially suffered 3 terrible knockout in his most recent fights. Hopefully James Vick takes some time away from the sport.

ONECentury Part 1/2

Angela Lee Def Jingnan Xiong by submission in the 5th round.
Bibiano Fernandes Def Kevin Bellingon by Submission in round 2.
Shinya Aoki Def Honorio Banario by submission in Round 1.
Aung La Nsang Def Brandon Vera by KO in round 2.

PFL Playoffs week 1

Nikolay Aleksakhin Def Jesse Ronson by Round 1.
Kayla Harrison Def Bobbi-jo Dalziel
Ray Cooper III Def Chris Curtis by KO in Round 2.

That’s Everything Enjoy!
