Well fight fans, one of the biggest cards of the year has officially come and gone. It was a pretty amazing card. I’m not going to talk about the decisions, I’m here just to bring you the finishes. I’m also going to include post-fight match making this time around to give you some more content I believe everyone will enjoy.
Early Prelims and Prelims
Leading up to this fight all week, I was saying Lyman Good would either sleep Chance Rencountre, or get choked out. Turns out I was right. Lyman Good didn’t really sleep Chance, he just beat him to a bloody pulp until he couldn’t take it anymore.
WOW! What can I say about Jairzinho Rozenstruik? He was coming off back to back finishes and follows up a 9 second knockout with another beautiful knockout. This time, it was the UFC veteran Andrei Arlovski who came off a pretty impressive fight himself. Jairzinho Rozenstruik is a problem in the heavyweight division ladies and gentlemen.
The middleweight division is getting really good, and Edmen Shahbazyan is here to take part. Edmen was on a 2 fight finish streak finishing Charles Byrd and submitted Jack Marshman. Truthfully, I didn’t think he has had tough competition yet so I wasn’t impressed yet. Man, I was so wrong and I’m now an official Edmen Shahbazyan fan. It only took Edmen 1 round to finish the UFC veteran Brad Tavares. Shahbazyan is 21, the sky is the limit for this kid!
Honestly, this is basically how I assumed this fight would go, those fighters down at SBG really tend to gas out. I knew if Shane Burgos could stay composed the first round he would eventually finish Makwan. In the third round he did just that with some brutal body shots.
This fight came as a shocker to me. Never in a million years did I expect Johnny Walker to get finished by Corey Anderson. Well he did, Corey Anderson caught Johnny Walker with an over hand right that stunned him and then just went wild throwing everything at him until the Ref waved it off. I gotta see Corey Anderson fight again, that was wildy impressive to say the least.
Excuse me while I pick my jaw up from the floor as I type this. Kevin Lee moving over to Tri-Star with Firas Zahabi might have been his best move. I had a feeling all week Kevin Lee would win this fight. I DID NOT expect him to get a head kick knockout though, that’s for damn sure.
